LEVI'S
Levi Stauss, a Bavarian immigrant, founded a dry goods company in San Francisco in 1853 at the height of the California Gold Rush. During this process, he realized an important need of hard-working people: Clothing that is resistant to all conditions. Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis combined denim and copper rivet support units and produced the first waist-strapped overalls in 1873. Today we call them "blue jeans".
What began as an invention for American workers became the uniform of progress. From miners to cowboys, rebels to rock stars, presidents to men and women on the street, these functional pieces weren't just workwear; became a part of their lives. But Levi's® is more than that. They are a wearable way for people to express themselves authentically. They carry the signs of life, the shapes of our bodies, the memories of our adventures. Levi Strauss & Co. One of the world's largest clothing companies and the world leader in the jean industry.
